Summer reminds me of swimming pools, popsicles, a cold beverage and TRAVEL. As a Dallas native, by the time July rolls around I always want a break from the vicious Texas heat. As I dream about summer vacations, I wanted to share some of my FAVORITE travel pieces. I group them into 4 main categories: the daily explorer, the personal item, the luggage, and the accessories.

The Daily Explorer

My #1 travel essential is a small crossbody. In years past I have carried the Gucci GG canvas waist bag and the LV Eva Clutch (I still LOVE both), but my absolute favorite travel bag is the Louis Vuitton Multi Pochette. It can hold a tremendous amount – I even put my air pods in the little round pouch – but it can also be worn multiple ways. I always love a versatile bag but ESPECIALLY on vacation! While I personally haven’t used one, I also think the LV Bumbag would make an excellent travel bag. My favorite feature is the back zip pocket which is ideal for keeping your phone and passport close to your body!

The Personal Item

My next primary category for luxury travel pieces is the personal item. This bag should be large enough to maximize capacity but small enough to fit under the airplane seat in front of you. My top picks are the LV Neverfull (I use the MM but the GM would be even better!), the Dior Book Tote, the LV ONTHEGO or the YSL Rive Gauche. Whatever bag you bring, make sure you can fit a sweater in there because why the heck are airplanes always FREEZING!?!

The Luggage

Although I often say “more is more,” when it comes to packing I have decided that carry on only is the way to go! When you pack everything in a carry on your bag will not get lost AND you can keep your eyes on it! I personally would have a hard time *checking* a designer suitcase for it to be knocked around out of sight. For most larger commercial planes, the Keepall Bandouliere 55 and the Horizon 55 are the largest sizes allowed for the overhead compartments.

The Accessories

It’s always nice to feel just a little bit fancy on vacation, am I right!? I love adding a little extra personality to your travel pieces with a bag charm or a twilly. Other great summer travel pieces for you are designer sunnies, a hat, a scarf or even shoes – I wore my Golden Goose sneakers all around Italy with no problem! *just be sure you have put some miles on your shoes ahead of time*
