Dior is one of the most iconic luxury brands in the world. It was founded in 1946 by Christian Dior and he revolutionized post-war fashion by designing pieces with cinched waists and full skirts. He called it the “New Look” and it forever changed women’s fashion!

The New Look 
Christian Dior’s debut collection celebrated ultra-feminity with rounded shoulders, voluminous skirts, and cinched waists. The most famous design was the Bar Suit which featured a padded skirt and a tailored jacket. Dior still sells the iconic bar jacket at their boutique!

Dior also created its signature perfume called “Miss Dior” which was named after his sister, Catherine Dior. It’s been almost 80 years since the perfume’s debut and it is still a staple fragrance for many women around the world! 

Lady Dior 
Dior introduced accessories around the same time he released his first collection, however the most iconic handbag was introduced in 1994. The Lady Dior bag was named in honor of Princess Diana.

Lady ABC

Saddle Bag
The Saddle bag was introduced in 1999 and it was famously worn by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. It quickly became the “it girl” bag in the early 2000s! The saddle bag features the signature saddle shape and it was designed by John Galliano. 

This Y2K era bag has kept the it-bag status and it continues to be one of Dior’s best selling bags. 

Oblique Canvas 
If you’re familiar with luxury then you’ve probably seen the Oblique print on clothing, handbags, and shoes. The oblique canvas was revealed in 1967 and it has become the brand’s most famous symbol. The jacquard canvas has been featured in almost every Dior collection since its debut!
