2019: Year in Review Told through Designer Handbags

We’ve almost made it through 2019, friends! Is it just us, or has this year been a wild ride? Before we dive into a new decade, we’ve gathered some of our favorite luxury handbag friends (and shoes!) to take a walk down memory lane. Here’s Keeks’ year in review!

January: Seeing Through Scams

At the top of the year, we were gifted with not one, but TWO chances to see through the horrendous debacle that was the attempted Fyre Festival in TWO documentaries streaming online about the fraudulent mess.

Here’s to actual transparent luxury for your new year in the Chanel Coco Splash Medium Tote.

February: Off the Deep End

The Academy Awards saw us all going off the deep end for Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s performance of the hit song from their reboot of A Star is Born.

They, like this deep and creamy Louis Vuitton Artsy, are far from the shallows now.

Also, we can’t mention the 2019 Oscars without giving a deserved moment of remembrance to Billy Porter’s velvety, glorious GOWN on the red carpet. Let us carry this memory with us like this black quilted velvet Gucci GG Marmont.

March: Scandalous

For actresses Lori Laughlin and Felicity Huffman, March found them contemplating whether orange really would be their new black when the scandal about their children’s college admissions came to light.

For 2020, it’s probably a safer bet for you to channel your edginess…and funds…into the orange of something like this head-turning Chanel Wallet on a Chain.

April: Our Prayers Went to Paris

Officials think it was either a cigarette or an electrical malfunction that sent the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral up in flames last spring. Anyone who has traveled to Paris has likely been enchanted by the sight of those gothic spires in the heart of the city. We can hold their memories in our imagination until they are rebuilt. Stay strong, Paris, like this little Chanel Paris Bombay Boy Bag.

May: Fresh Royalty

The British royal family welcomed a new face in May when Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex had little Archie.

Even if you’re American, you, too, can experience the joy of welcoming your own little Brit into the family with a Burberry Brit Mini Ashby Tassel.

June: “Old Town Road” Still Rides

Before Lil Nas X arrived on the scene, many were unaware that “Country Rap” was even a thing. His hit  “Old Town Road” rose to #1 on the Billboard charts in April and made history as it held its place there through June and into August.

July: U.S. Women Kick Butt

In July, the U.S. Women’s Soccer team won the World Cup and broke their own record of a women’s team winning the most World Cup titles.

We encourage you to make your own victorious world tour—or at least carry one like this Louis Vuitton Neverfull World Tour.

August: Chicken Sandwich Hysteria

When fast food chain Pop Eye’s introduced their chicken sandwich in August, chaos ensued. People lined up around the block to get them, reports of violence spurred by the demand broke out, and an epic twitter war started between rival chains .

We recommend a less dramatic hysteria. Perhaps a Gucci Hysteria Satchel.

September: Though She Be But Little, She is Fierce

Now we know her as Time Magazine’s person of the year, but the world was bowled over when passionate 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg gave a moving speech at the U.N. in September.

Shake things up this year. Try on a Chanel Just Mademoiselle Bowler and speak your truth!

October: Walking in Space

After an unfortunate hiccup regarding space suits for women, October saw the first all female space walk .

November: Snow Queens Times Two

Just last month saw the release of the sequel to the huge Disney hit Frozen. Are you an Anna (like this Gucci Marmont) or an Elsa (like this Chloe Faye Backpack)?

December: Peloton Ad Fail

The internet gave a hard “no” to the holiday themed ad for the stationary Peloton bike . For $2,500, that husband could have gotten his wife a spectacular pre-owned Louis Vuitton like this Pochette Metis instead. Bonus points: it’s even in the  Pantone 2019 color of the year—living coral.
